Frequently Asked Questions

  • Fuel is not included in the rental price. Boats are provided with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. If the boat is not returned full, we will refuel it and the cost will be deducted from the damage deposit.

  • Some boating experience is strongly recommended. If you are inexperienced, please let us know in advance so we can provide proper instruction and ensure you are comfortable before departure.

  • Weather conditions are monitored closely. Rentals may be rescheduled or adjusted at the discretion of management if conditions are deemed unsafe. Light rain does not automatically cancel a rental.

  • Late returns may be subject to a $150.00 per hour late fee. We recommend planning ahead to ensure the watercraft is returned on time to avoid additional charges.

  • Yes. Watercraft must be operated responsibly and in accordance with all local boating laws. Reckless operation, towing, or misuse of the boat may result in additional charges or termination of the rental.

  • The pick-up and return location is 117 Lansdowne St W, Callander, ON. Please arrive on time for check-in and allow sufficient time for the return inspection process.

  • Yes. A damage deposit is required for all rentals and is held to cover any potential damages, losses, or violations during the rental period. The deposit is refunded after inspection, provided the watercraft is returned in the same condition.

  • Normal use is expected. However, excessive mess, garbage, or neglect may result in a cleaning fee. Please return the watercraft in a reasonably tidy condition.

  • At Harper’s Marina, we expect all watercraft to be returned in the same condition in which they were rented. As the renter, you are fully responsible for any damage that occurs during the rental period, regardless of the cause, including but not limited to collisions, improper operation, grounding, or negligence. Should any damage occur, you will be required to cover the full cost of all necessary repairs.

  • All required forms must be completed 24 hours before your scheduled rental time. This helps ensure a fast and efficient check-in process so you can get on the water as quickly as possible. The required paperwork can be found on our website under the Rentals tab, labeled “Rental Paperwork”.

  • All bookings are subject to availability. Changes or cancellations may be accommodated depending on timing and availability. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to adjust your booking. Non-refundable reservation deposits are not returned in the event of a cancellation; however, a credit will be issued and may be used until the end of the rental season/year.
